The Florida Collegiate Chess Foundation is honored to announce that they will be sending out a collegiate team to perform at the first International Intercollegiate tournament hosted by UNIBE of Dominican Republic, 9/11/19.

The school selected were the champions of the 2019 Spring Classics on March 24th, Florida International University.

Boards 1 - 4: NM Juan Eduardo, Matthew Kolcz, Juan Gomez, Laura Matzdorf

As this trip is an out-of-pocket expense, only 4 players were able to afford the plane tickets, which includes the organization's founder, Matthew Kolcz, who will be representing for FIU.

A big thank you to Laura and Juan who helped pick up some of the work that was required to organize this trip.

Laura has shown amazing leadership both in and outside her club, putting together tourist locations for us to explore on our free day, and asking great questions to make sure we were fully prepared.

Juan contributed by taking care of the finances and plane tickets while remaining a support system for me as my second.

UNIBE has connections with FIU for being their study abroad duel-enrollment program.

If you are able, we would greatly appreciate any help with our trip on the financial end. GoFundMe.com

Wish us luck! We are representing the United States after all!
