My Favorite KPOP Bands #1

Taking a quick break from my "Favorite Christian Artist" Series,

I would like to educate people on one aspect of the music world of KPOP (Korean Pop music).

Oftentimes, people avoid KPOP due to not understanding the language, the (at times) confusing MVs, or just because they just don't have a taste for it. Either way, if you don't like KPOP, sorry but I am not really sorry 😅😂🤣.

Let's start this list of MY FAVORITE KBANDS of ALL TIME!!!

BIO:

Unlike K-pop contemporaries who focus on hard-hitting beats and hip-hop-influenced anthems, boy band Day6 engage in bright pop bolstered with sweeping rock power. Issuing a string of Korean and U.S. Top Ten releases, the group debuted in 2015 with The Day, rising on the charts with subsequent EPs and a pair of 2017 full-lengths, Sunrise and Moonrise. In addition to the Korean and North American markets, Day6 also focus on Japan, debuting there in 2018 with Unlock.

Formed in 2014 as a quintet dubbed 5LIVE, the group originally comprised Sungjin (vocalist/guitarist), Jae (guitarist/vocalist), Young K (bassist/vocalist), Junhyeok (keyboardist), and Wonpil (keyboardist/vocalist). With the addition of drummer Dowoon in 2015, they upgraded to Day6. The sextet issued their debut EP that same year. The Day charted outside the Korean Top Five and rose to number two on the Billboard World Albums chart. The following year, Junhyeok parted ways with the band and label. Once again a five-piece, Day6 released their sophomore EP, Daydream, before returning to the studio to work on their debut full-length. --SPOTIFY

REASONS WHY I LIKE DAY6:

1. They are a KPOP BAND. I already enjoyed the music of KPOP because of it's generally clean and meaningful lyrics, awesome choreography, and diversity, but learning that there were musicians/bands in the industry was simply 🤯🤯🤯

I'm still relatively new to KPOP, about a year or so of listening.

2. The members themselves are talented individuals. Besides playing instruments, they write their own music and lyrics. Most of the messages are good or deep or both. Either way, their lyrics are always moving.

3. One of the few KPOP acts/groups/bands that have an amazing all-around discography. They are often known as the KPOP Group or Band that "never has any bad songs." Granted, there are songs I like more than others, but generally all of their songs are well-made. They also play a variety of styles.

4. I just like bands. I am a musicians myself so I appreciate the hard work and dedication they put into their playing and singing.
