Chess as a cognitive tool
At a time when educators eagerly endorse the idea that all students should be given greater opportunity to develop higher-level thinking skills, many educators across the globe are expanding chess programs or introducing them into their curriculum.
Namibia is only a developing country and thus, we as a nation are very far from my opening paragraph, my dream as a chess player is to play against my 7years old sister on a competitive level, so I appeal to the international community to help grow chess in my country, whether by means of sponsoring government funded projects or engaging the communities in their different regions in proactive social events aimed at empowering the youth with vital thinking capabilities.
