The King's Gambit Explained!
Welcome back! Sorry I haven't posted in a while, but here's an interesting opening for you today! I recommend not to use this in high rated games because you will be destroyed if you don't know how to play this opening.
The opening starts like this, 1.e4, e5, 2.f4, exf4. This is the King's Gambit Accepted, and your game should look like this:
Now, you want to take control of the center, which is your goal. So, I would play bishop to c4, creating this Italian Game look. But black is like, "Hey, whites king has opened up, so i'm going to check him." After he does this, just watch this game. It's amazing!
That is called an amazing game! bxf5 was a brilliant move because it lures the king over to fork the queen and king!
This opening has become very unpopular though. I have played 2,000 games and yet have not seen this opening by my opponent. It was very popular back in 1900 to 1930, but has dropped popularity by 24% since that time! It's a rare opening now because of how good chess players have gotten and they know they will get beat by playing this interesting opening.
