Pawn Power Lessons From the GM

Hi Chess Friends,

One of my favorite things about playing on sites like chess.com or ICC is that I can occasionally play quick games with some of the current and former top players in the world. In the last few weeks I've seen former World Championship Candidate, Mikahil Gurevich online a few times. He's still very strong player and has beaten me in most of our encounters. Our two most memorable games from my perspective both involved massive walls of pawns leading to wins. I hope you enjoy these games with some brief comments.

In our next meeting, the GM blew me off the board with a nice sacrifice of his own to promote pawns. I'll need to fix up this line for white if I ever want to play it again.
