All great players are not always known for being good at all parts of the game, but they are. Mikhail Tal is known for his amazing imaginative attacking/sacrificial games, but was also very adept at the endgame. Anatoly Karpov was very well known as the great positional player and endgame extraordinare, but when the position called for it, he was able to attack with the best of them.
