Who am I to disagree with the very first World Chess Champion?! Well, that's a thing that I find interesting about chess: each player needs to find a philosophy that works for the said player. What works for one player will not work well for other players.
Personally, unless I know a gambit line very well, I'd much rather decline the gambit to get a nice slightly better or even equal position than accept the gambit and be bombarded by a raging attack! Below are some of my favorite ways to get acceptable positions against the most aggressive of gambits.
Let me know what you think in the comments and I hope this helps you frustrate some dangerous gambiteers!
