This Rook Endgame Must Be Brought To Your Attention
Hi, everyone!
Time for another Rook endgame class! Kids, take a seat, open your textbook, pay attention to the board, don't bully your peers! (talking to you TROLLS!). Anyway, the following Rook endgame is important to learn because it can come up in real games, and if you mess it up, you lose
The position above is drawn, as long as the White King shuffles from h2-g2. If you put this on Chess.com's computer, it will give Black like -4, but it's still drawn, no way to win (unless White blunders ). The Rook on a7 cuts off the whole 7th rank, if my Rook moves away from the pawn, it gets taken, etc etc. However, White played Kf2 and screwed it up.
Important endgame concept to know. Hope you've been enjoying these little nuggets of chess knowledge from yours truly. And give me feedback... do you like these quirky chess moments? Do you enjoy the full game annotations I did sometimes? Let me know what you want in the comments!
