The B.L.I.T.Z. Rule

Some of my favourite acronyms have been around so long that they have apparently become words themselves. The actual meaning of the letters has often been forgotten ...... SCUBA of course is Self-Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus .... another couple (from WW2 I believe) need a little tidying up before being suitable for mixed company; SNAFU being Situation Normal All Fouled Up, and FUBAR being Fouled Up Beyond All Recognition.

When looking up the word Blitz, I wondered if it might be an acronym ....(its a German word for Lightning) ..... I thought it might make a good one in describing one of the rules to winning at Bullet Chess (see previous Blog .... Bullet Chess 1-2-3).

As part of Rule 3 (Don't Worry - Be Happy) it was mentioned that blunders happen, don't worry, your opponent is just as likekly to blunder as well, or you will win by time advantage, or you may learn from your mistake and do better next time.....

OK here it is ...... (its not very good really, I'm not too pleased with this attempt at acronymity .....don't want to cause any acronym acrimony).....

The B.L.I.T.Z. rule regarding your number of blunders during Bullet Chess .... Better Limit It To Zero (of course they are going to happen now and again but its quite obvious that if you don't blunder your odds of winnining increase).

Again its not the best use of the letters B.L.I.T.Z. ...... if you think of any better ones let me know!

Good Game,

Dave
