Have you ever wondered why people keep beating you in Chess and come to only find that you're just not as good as them but you won't let that stand? That's okay 'cause I didn't either! I wanted to get better but I had to figure that out on my own. So, let me give you 3 of my tips and tricks that helped make me a better Chess player.

  1.  Keep a consistent training routine.

Now this might look different person to person however the key point is that you do it every day. That's so important because eventually you'll form a habit and just know to train but the only way that will happen is if you do it every day, even if you don't want to because it will help you get better. Your training routine should also consist of doing Puzzles, Lessons (its okay if you don't have premium I don't either but you can still do one lesson a day and 3 puzzles a day), and most important play the Chess bots. I used to struggle to beat John (700) but now i beat Nelson (1300) and that was like 3 weeks of this routine. Now I will say that if will come faster to some and slower to some so don't get depressed if its been 3 weeks and you still haven't met your goal, just give it time and I promise you that it will happen eventually and it will feel just that much better.

2. Just Play

If you just Play Chess and not worry about your rating you'll probably win more and have more fun because your not so stressed out. Being nervous is totally okay but being stressed over a relaxing game of chess with your neighbor, not so much. Also you'll get to practice your skills that your learning from your lessons and Chess bots. Even if you lose a Chess game, review it and see what you could've done differently because you might learn something and really surprise your self. If you don't at least you get to see if you did well or not. Also try to see the positive in loosing and always have positive self talk because the last thing you want to do is make yourself not like Chess anymore.

3. HAVE FUN

Now I know this isn't really a tip but I see so many people beat themselves up from loosing a Chess match even though they made some amazing progress so stay positive and have fun. That's what Chess really should be, something to help you unwind and relax.
