Life Hacks #1: A solution for website blockers-simple and effective!
If you've ever struggled with a school siteblocker, this is the blog for you. As a kid, we all struggled to get on gaming sites and youtube with the site blockers at school. That's about to change, though!
1. Understanding how site blockers and apps usually work
--------------------------------
Site blockers like Securly, also known as web filters, work by intercepting and analyzing web traffic to block access to specific websites or categories of websites. They achieve this by using various methods, including URL blocking, keyword filtering, and category-based restrictions. When you attempt to access a blocked site, the blocker redirects you to a block page or displays a message reminding them of your goals.
--------------------------------
2. Workarounds?
-------------------------------
Now, for the big part... Workarounds to this?
Well, it turns out there are 3 major workarounds to this, and we will explain these one by one.
Workaround 1: Video downloaders
A video downloader, otherwise known as an .mp4 converter, is a tool used for downloading videos. Just enter the link of the video you want to watch and Boom! you get an .mp4 file, which is unblockable. If securly blocks the link, click the link bar [shown below] and press the "back to previous page" button. Most of the times, the url for the video you are watching is displayed for a few moments before dissapearing. Use this time to do Command-C and copy the link.

Workaround 2: Spotlight search
Spotlight search, also known as the infamous magnifying glass, is a place where you can quick-search applications, websites, and more. It's also a place to watch youtube! All you have to do is open spotlight search, type youtube, and hold-click the button with youtube.com [likely shown with a safari logo]. Then, press space bar. Don't press space again or it will close. Delete is spacebar. Then, type a random letter, then the topic you are searching.

Workaround 3: Google chat and Chess.com
Your FAVORITE daily websites are coming into use!
Google Chat, which is an extremely popular discord-like chatting site, is useful for site blockers that are app's, like Fortify. If you create a google meet and join it, the pop-up will confuse the blocker, allowing you to do things freely. But if it blocks chat.google.com, it won't work. For chess.com, you can upload a blog with a video url using the same methods as a video downloader but just cmd-V into the video button. Then, post it! I used to do it on my old acc @Birdy-13. Here's an example from a youtuber I like to watch, Caylusblox:
And here are some photos to help you!

Conclusion
For safetty backups, it's recommended to have a list of good youtube url's. Although I can't provide you with a list right now, my NEXT blog, Life hacks #2: Emergency Video Helpers, will do the task! See you there!
