For many, Chess.com Tournaments are not new! Almost everyone knows how to register for an Online or Daily Tournament.

However, not everyone knows how to create a tournament and how to use the Tournament Settings. So in this post I will talk about Tournaments - how to use and how to create.

The basic questions for the Tournament are explained in the  FAQ.

To quickly get information about a Tournament, you need to learn the special tags "Tournament Legend".

Chess.com Tournaments are divided into:

• Online Tournaments;

• Daily Tournaments.

To Create an Online Tournament, you must be a club Coordinator or Administrator. You need to click "Create Live Tournament" in the "Manage club" panel.

In the Tournament Creation Settings you must enter:

• Tournament Type (Swiss or Arena);

• The name of the Tournament;

• Game Type;

• Time control;

• Start Date and Time;

•  Minimum Games.

Online Tournaments are divided into "Swiss" and "Arena".

Swiss Tournaments are divided into rounds. The next rounds are the winners of the previous rounds.

Arena Tournaments take some time (from 30 minutes to 1 day). The winner is the participant who has scored the most points. For a win you get 2 points, for a draw - 1. If you win twice in a row, for the second victory you get 3 points, for the third and further - 4 points!

To create a Daily Tournament you need to have a premium account. In the Tournaments panel, you need to find "Create Daily Tournament".

In the Tournament settings, you must enter:

• Tournament Name;

• Days per move;

• Group Size;

• Max players;

• Advence per Group.

Advanced Tournament creation options are also available. In them you can:

• Set the Start Date of the Tournament;

• Create a tournament only for users with a Premium account;

• Allow only people you have invited to join;

• Use Custom Trophies.

Once you have created the Daily Tournament, the "TD Tools" panel becomes available.

In this panel you can:

•  Start the tournament (You can only use the option when there are at least 3 participants);

• Invite players;

• Create Announcement;

• Remove participants;

• Edit settings;

• Cancel tournament.
