I beat a FIDE Master
I was just writing about how I’m restricted to playing bots and cheaters, what a perfect time to demonstrate what I mean.
So I was playing in the daily Bullet Tournament. I think I won 6 games, lost 2 and drew 1 going into my 10th game. Now, forgive my uncertainty but I think this will read correctly. I’m not supposed to win. By that, I mean lichess deals with cheating in the most passive aggressive possible way. The key to their system is uncertainty. They have no proof you or anyone else cheated. This is a non profit after all. So when they get reports they have a bot go through your games. If you’re good, you’ll get banned. Lichess would have two defenses:
1. You can appeal so it’s fair
This is a lie. Lichess will not allow you to appeal and doesn’t care about you. This is a huge legal liability for them and it shocks me that they continue to lie to the users
2. If you play “like an engine you cheated”
So if you play well you’ll get banned. It’s purely semantics. I learned from stockfish by the way. Why would I not play like an engine?
So back to today- if lichess matched cheaters (and innocent people who happen to be good) against stockfish level 7 it would be too obvious. Rather you face a mix of stockfish 3-8, but if you’re not cheating you are not supposed to win. It’s not important — I’m too good and I win anyway. So I get matched with an “fm” but someone should find out if they remember. Hell if they’re a real person.
I was just matched against an even higher level of stockfish. With “FM next to the name. All to keep up the ruse.
The only thing that matters is I lose. I didn’t. I still won
And I almost forgot, I was playing on mobile. L M A O !
