It's been a long while since my last blog post; this is result of both being busy with work and other obligations, as well as a desire not to broadcast over the web my tournament games in advance of the 2012 Manhattan Open.

I played in both the Long Island Open earlier in the year, where I went 4.5/5 (winning 2nd place in the U1700 section), and the Manhattan Open, where I did not have as good of a tournament (finished with 3/6 in about the middle of the field).

I will be posting annotated games from both events over the next few weeks. I'll also include some opening analysis I have, in particular some lines I've explored in the Grivas Sicilian (5.Be3 is more playable that you might think, although still probably unsound).

But to start with, I'll follow with a post on some OTB games I played last night, since they are freshest in my mind. Enjoy!
