So You want to get better at chess, but don't know how to.

Progressing at chess as a beginner can be tough when you don't know how to deal with the excessive amount of information out there.

So

The idea of getting better excites you but you currently feel overwhelmed by all the material?

Don't worry, I got you happy.png

Lemme show you what plan I would follow if one day I lost my powers and I need to start from Zero.

1. I would understand why I lose so many times: Pattern recognition

No matter your level, understanding your mistakes is key when you are looking to improve your chess.

Why this is so vital? Because only when you understand the source of all your problems then you can know what to do to solve them.

How to start to gain awareness?  Study your own games and get conclusions from there.

Once you understand, you may have a better idea of what training plan you need to improve.

2. I would ask for help in forums (getting allies)

So, once you have a clearer idea of your problems, then you can use the chess.com forum for your interest. You can ask better questions about what you need.

Don't be the guy who is looking for general advice: Look for what could work better for you.

After making step 1, you have some ideas of your that you can share. I don't guarantee you that you will obtain the right answer but at least you can earn some new allies to your journey.

Remember: Getting better at chess is a journey and a challenge. It is funnier when you have some allies that understand you and care about your progress.

3. I would reach professional advice (The easiest way)

As I said, step 2 can give you some value but that doesn't guarantee you any progress.

Do you want to progress? Look for professional advice

When I started at chess I was completely lost: I didn't know what to do to progress. But I was lucky that I had good mentors that gave me the tools to become an advanced player.

I promise you: professional advice is the easiest and guaranteed way to get better at chess faster.

If I must start again, I wouldn't buy books or courses right away. I would first listen to an expert who shows me:

  • My current mistakes and bad patterns
  • The skills that I need to develop to play better
  • The plan that I need to follow to progress

Do you feel committed to improve? I propose you an analysis audion.

What is that? Well, we have a live call (ZOOM)  and I take a look at your games and then I tell you what are your currents mistakes and what is the fastest way to fix them (the plan you need)

There is no catch, this audition is for free. But It is not for everyone

  • You have to be 100% commit to your progress.
