So, I am now blogging on a chess website. Interesting. Not that I find this to be bad per se, so much as I am not sure what to put here that I could not simply post on a forum.

To all of you out there who are reading this (a small crowd I am certain), go easy on me. I have know the rules to chess for some time, however, I have not developed any real skill at the game.

As I said in the "Chess and Me" part on my profile, I have ADHD, and there has always been a strategy game more...instant in its delivery of gratification than chess. Now that I am married, and generally attempting an "adult" existence (as much of an adult as a 23 year old can be), I find my treatment is leaving me with both attention and time (now that I am better organized) to spare. Not that I expect to get any good at this.

I would like to hear from anyone who has a constructive suggestion. I will possibly attempt to delve into those cryptic tomes known as "chess books" to glean some measure of skill. I need most help with my openers, mainly because I have none to speak of, and I cannot imagine building a strategy around a random mid game scenario without a measure of experience greater than my own.
