Luis Ramirez de Lucena (data di nascita tra il 1465 e il 1475; morto nel 1530)

A lui si deve la regola "pezzo toccato pezzo giocato".

Da poco più di 20 anni era cambiato il modo di muovere la Regina, detto "a la rabbiosa" (mad Queen chess) e in subordine quello dell'alfiere, prima molto più limitati. Per controbilanciare il sopravvenuto strapotere della Regina Leonardo da Vinci ideò l'arrocco.

Questo Matto di Lucena è un analogo dei problemi scacchistici odierni, proposto allora da Luis Ramirez.

We owe to him the touch-move rule. 
The previously very limited movement of the queen had been recently finally strengthened (mad Queen chess - "a la rabiosa") and so the movement of the bishop had changed as well. To counterbalance the Queen's excessive power, Leonardo da Vinci invented castling.

The Lucena position is an analogue of today's chess problems, proposed during the XV century by Luis Ramirez
