I first started chess when I was six years old when my dad bought me my first set and taught me the basics. For the first couple of years I just played for fun with my grandpa and father. Then, two years ago, I joined a small chess tournament at my local library. I placed third and the director asked me to be on her chess team. So I decided to give it a try. Since then, I have improved greatly. I played young chess master Joshua Colas and almost beat him and then played in the North American Youth Championship and placed forty-ninth. Now I still play and am trying to improve my game and get my rating up.
