This is my blog. Yay.

Intro

null

I am DuckDuckChess6, and this is my blog. I think I said that already, but I'll say it again. I am the believed-to be inventor of the forum game Race to 100.  It WAS popular until I started to run out of ideas, but I'll save that story for later. I also wanted to improve the quality of variant chatrooms, but Race to 100 is plenty for me to handle. Please consider the time it took to write this. It isn't easy to type anything with these feathers. I tried using my beak, but I pecked out my "v" key the other day and that can't happen again. So please don't complain if this is too short. With that out of the way, let's get into this, shall we?

DuckDuck's Chess

null

This is where I give you lovely readers a chance to help my chess ability. I'm not the best chess player around, so some pointers would be nice. And don't worry, my duck brain is able to hold ALL of your awesome ideas.

I played this chess game in a Blitz arena a few days ago. I am a good blitz player(despite these stupid feathers I have for hands) but I still need assistance. Analyze this game and post your analysis in the comments.

Race to 20

null

Race to 20 is like Race to 100, but adjusted. There are two topics, and you can vote for them(DUH). The first topic to reach 20 points wins. Regular members give their topic 1 point per vote. Titled players and Chess.com staff give their topic 2 points per vote. Here is how you'd post in this little game.
Player 1: I vote for Topic 1.

1-0

Player 2: I vote for Topic 2.

1-1

Player 3(Staff): I vote for Topic 1.

3-1

Have fun with that.

StoryTime

No, you are not little kids. I'm just reading a nice story because it's my blog and I can do what I want.

The Story of Race to 100: Part 1

It was a nice day on Chess.com. I wasn't very active yet, but this was December 2016. I wouldn't be active until much later. I posted in all the forum games that I played. I posted in word games, and in those "Count to 100 before THIS GUY posts!" threads. So last YEAR. That's when it hit me like a plane in the sky! Just kidding. Those scare me. Many a duck have been killed by those. Ahem! Back to my story.

So I got the idea to make a new thread. A new game trend. So I quietly brainstormed for months. Revising, refining my new idea every week or so. Finally, on March 8 of 2017, it happened. The first EVER Race to 100 thread: Boys VS Girls. Oh, what a day that was! Race to 100 rose up and became the most popular thread on Chess.com!!!

Just kiddingtongue.png It wasn't until early April that the trend REALLY took off. People were loving my thread! People even started making their own Race to 100s. It was around this time that the longest Race to 100 thread, Premium VS Basic, started. It still goes on today. It was a Race to 1000 though, and everyone knows how long those takemeh.png

I made more Race to 100 threads. And more. I saw my dream coming true... having a forum trend to myself! Around THIS time(a lot of times) I made Bishops VS Knights, my most popular Race to 100 and longest thread. I was making new friends. Everything was awesome, but it would get better. And then...

I decided that you'll have to wait until later to hear the rest of the story!grin.pnggrin.pnggrin.png Hope you enjoyed!

Riddles

null

I have three riddles. Here is your chance to solve them!! Post your answers in the chat. The answers will be revealed in the next issue.

Riddle 1: Hot Rays: Never resting, never still. Moving silently from hill to hill. It does not walk, run or trot, All is cool where it is not. What is it?

Riddle 2: Backwards I am Not:  Foward I am heavy, but backward I am not. What am I?

Riddle 3: The Puppy on the Internet: In 2000, a 40-year-old doctor told his son that when he was a little boy he decided to be a doctor by seeing a internet web site about performing a heart transplant on a puppy with a defective heart so that the puppy would live a normal life. I then thought that I would be a doctor so that I could help people in a similar way. What is the defect in this story?

I will give a shoutout to anyone who solves Riddle 3 in the next issue, so get thinking! And NO OUTSIDE SUPPORT!

Joke of the Week

null

This is where I tell a joke. Seriously. That's it. Don't stop expecting more, because there is.

This is my favorite joke. Everyone I've said it to has laughed. Will you?

THE JOKE: Q. How did the butcher introduce his wife?

                   A. Meet Patty.

LOL LOL LOL LOL tongue.png tongue.png tongue.png LOL LOL! Gets me every time!

Contest

null

We are near the end of my blogcry.pngcry.pngcry.png but we will end with a bang! I've got some contest for you all and the winner gets showcased in my next issue!

Today's contest is the Weird Legal Positions contest! Make some insane chess position that is legally possible, and post it in the comments. The craziest position(HAS TO BE LEGAL) wins! Here is my entry.

If nobody gets a good position, MINE wins!happy.png And yes, this is legal. It takes 29 moves from the starting positions to make this.

Conclusion

null

Yes, it ends here. Thank you all for taking the time to read this. I even used my beak to type some of these words, but I pecked out my "n" key 10 minutes ago. Please consider my keyboard's sacrifices. And mine too. I have to pay some guy 5 bucks to put my keys back in, just because these STUPID FEATHERS I HAVE FOR HANDS can't do it themselves!angry.png Leave a comment telling me how you liked my blog(on a scale of 1 to 10), and do some of my little activities if you want. This is the Weekly Duck, so I will try to post every week. Don't blame me for screwing up on a day or two, because these feathers I have for hands show NO mercy. Again, thanks for reading. See ya next week.
