What should you do if you cannot figure out how to equalize against a certain opening variation?

The old chess wisdom says to play the variation with the opposite color and let your opponent show the equality to you if it exists.

Of course, wisdom evolves over time. Nowadays, we can run strong engines and get a report that usually somehow finds equality almost everywhere. However, the lines are often quite complicated for mortal minds, and most probably, a person without prior knowledge of them would not figure them out.

So, why not follow the old wisdom using modern computer analysis and see if your opponent figures it out or not?! This brings us to this week’s Game of the Week...
