I would like to share my experience participating in the new chess.com tournament "RAPID OPENING ROULETTE". If you haven't heard about it yet, you can find the official post here: "Introducing Opening Roulette - Chess.com".

In my opinion, the tournament was a fun experience. Playing an opening that I wasn't familiar with made me realize that my opening repertoire is limited. It also forced me to calculate moves in the first 7 moves, something I haven't done in a few months. Additionally, playing against opponents with a higher rating than mine by at least 100 Elo, and getting a close position to them, motivated me to improve my game and aim to reach a 1700 Elo rating after going back the 1600. I also realized that getting crushed by a titled player in 7 moves showed me that I still have a long way to go to improve my game.

In conclusion, I hope chess.com introduces a new format where players get a new opening for each arena game, making the game more dependent on calculation. I would like to share my best win in this tournament, which I am proud of even though I didn't play with high accuracy, and I think my opponent went easy on me.
