My Blog Intro
Hello! Welcome to my first blog post!
As stated in my "about me" page, I am a sixteen-year-old high school Junior currently homeschooling. I began playing tournaments in May 2015. I now have 100+ USCF (United States Chess Federation) rated games and currently hold an OTB rating of 1634. I do have short-term rating goals, but my ultimate goal is a Master title (2200 USCF). Only 566 points to go!
You may wonder why my blog is titled "The World of 64 Squares". Well... chess is its own world, and it does consist of 64 squares! Some of what I will be writing about may include:
- Super-tournament summaries/recaps/previews (from my point of view)
- Some of my interesting games (both OTB tournament and online)
- My chess journey
- (Instructional) chess problems
- Other aspects of the chess world that interest me
My frequency may vary especially as the school year lurks on, though I hope to be posting maybe 2-4 times per week. I hope my posts can be taken as educational and entertaining... not only for the readers but for myself as well! I would love to be a top blogger on chess.com one day, but as of now, I think I need more practice blogging!
Well, I think that's about it. If you have questions, suggestions, or blogging tips, you are welcome to let me know. I do not accept friend requests from users I don't know personally, though you are welcome to follow me by going to my profile and hit "Follow EOGuel".
Thanks for reading the first of hopefully many blog posts!
