The Budapest Gambit Is A Very Tricky Opening -- Don't Fall For These Traps Like I Did!
Hi, everyone!
Have you ever tried the Budapest Gambit? The gambit for Black goes 1. d4 Nf6 2. c4 e5!?.
Black is trying to distract White from their harmonious setup in the center while organizing an attack for themselves. Black has many trappy ideas in this opening. Don't fall for these as I did!
Oof... that was a tough one! Let's look at the next trap... and what was more embarrassing about this one, was that this was game one of the 2019 Waco City Chess Championship match. What a way to start the match!
If you're a 1. d4-player with lack of experience against the Budapest Gambit, remember these traps and avoid them when people throw them at you. I hope you enjoyed the post and seeing me lose a couple of times! I'll be back with another post soon!
