Update on my Progress
For information about my experiment, please refer to my first post.
I decided to not do a long meditation session this week. I have been noticing some mental fatigue and I think I need a break. I'll probably do some shorter sessions throughout the week, but nothing over 5 minutes.
In terms of playing results, I recently went to the Oregon City Chess Club and played a 2050 rated player twice. I lost a game I should have won and won a game I should have lost. I guess that means it all balances out. 1st game I was profoundly winning but blundered mate in 1. 2nd game he was profoundly winning but launched an unsound attack. I have lost to this particular person many times. My playing record against him is terrible. I'm happy with an even score. It is an improvement over what I have been able to achieve in the past. Next time I see him, I'll see if my improvement persists.
I also started playing a lot more online games. After the sloppiness of last week's games, I felt I had to play more to sharpen my ability to play. The sloppiness is much better than last week, though blundering mate in 1 proves there is still some sloppiness left. I'll try to keep playing regularly.
My USCF Classical Rating: 1648 (provisional)
