How I got Scammed
On the night March 25th, I was approached by a stranger on my discord server. He offered to giveaway his MacBook for free. Now, anyone with some sort of life experience will easily tell you that this is probably a scam. However, I was always a fan of apple products so this idea did not click into my head. He then told me to wire him the shipping fee, which I did.
It was at this point where things took a turn, he then told me there have been some problems with the shipping and I had to pay more money. Around here, I realized I was scammed but it was already too late. As I asked for a refund, he then blocked me. Oof.
So why am I telling you this?
Although I didn't lose much money, but this incident reminded of an important life tip:
"Don't be Greedy"
Had I not been greedy, I wouldn't be scammed...
Rumi, a famous poet has once said, "greed makes man blind and foolish".
Think about the times where you carelessly took a pawn, or even a piece, only to find out that you landed in your opponent's trap.
Take a look at the following position:
In retrospect, most humans are greedy in some way shape or form, but we shouldn't make irrational decisions in chess or life because we got materialistic. I hope that the readers take this as a reminder and do not make the same mistakes I did.
