How I roasted Chess.com's Game Review
Chess.com's Game Review feature has been on site for a long time, with many updates and improvements made. Especially like the coach explanation for every move you(and your opponent) makes, but this is precisely what is disappointing about the game review feature. Not only does it gives you obvious comments, like, "Oh, you should have moved the knight off of the starting square" it is also VERY obvious. EVEN an IDIOT can see that! ![]()
So, today we will be looking at some hilarious comments that chess.com game reviews made, but also learn how to review our own games.
P.S If you're a chess.com staff member, please don't ban me
I am just an innocent child who is trying to give some feedback on your site. No offense intended ![]()
Part 1: Looking at examples of chess.com game review comments:
Back in April, I have played a 10-min game on chess.com and saw the game review comments afterwards:

Seriously!??!?!?! Although my opponent is lost anyways, but hanging a bishop is NOT going to help! What is more surprising is that chess.com thinks it's a "SOLID Choice" !!!!! This was done on my phone, but let's see what chess.com has to say about this move when I do this on my computer:
WHAT!?!?!!?!? VERY STRONG PLAY?? EVEN A BABY CAN SEE Be6 HANGS A PIECE!
What are you, chess.com? A disappointing failure? I would not be surprised if mountains of complaints were filed against your game reviews...
You might be saying, 'Ok, that's only your opinion"
But this is not over, as even the World Number One AGREES with me:
The video above is when Magnus played a game then absolutely ROASTED Chess.com's game review,
you can start at 5:18 if you want. (Credit to Crazy Chess for this amazing video)
Part 2: How to review our game?
#1: Write down three things you have learned
#2: Check any openings you're not sure
#3: Find the recurring errors that you're making
#4: If you make a mistake or even a blunder, ask yourself: "Why?" And try to find the reason and that is going on in your mind when making this move.
5# Take it seriously.
Reflections
Computers can only tell us the final answer, but not the process. Using an engine to analyze our games does not help.
For example: The computer points out a 20-move sequence that leads to a win, but no human can even see that. We should not blame ourselves for missing this. Again, the computer can tell us the answer, but not the process.
*We should focus on the process more than the answer itself.
Congratulations! You have made it the end! Any questions, comments, feel free to leave it below.
