AMAZING FREE CHESS APP YOU MUST HAVE!
I have recently been using a new app for chess on my computer that I am totally in love with. ChessPad 2.0 makes life so much easier than using these monsters of analysis Fritz or Chessbase. In fact it is the simplicity of the app that makes life so much easier, and there are no other distractions from the task at hand. And did I mention it cost nothing, free, zip, nada?? I have been using it to analyse/annotate my old chess club games and producing lovely book-like pages such as the one shown here:
Nice, isn't it!? I now have a folder of these for my chess club games which will aid my improvement in my games...watch out Kirkcaldy Chess Club! I have taken it to another stage and have decided to use it for my correspondence games and particularly for my live games. I hope the benefit of this will enhance my game play. I must stress I use this purely as a personal analysis tool without engine input. I have found that engines have their limitations and using them as your sole source of moves will lead to disaster.
I can hear you all screaming where can I get this great app! You will find it free to download at http://www.wmlsoftware.com/index.html . Also I would recommend watching the tutorial video which will help you in the set up process, this can be found at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v9zHUUAF4SQ or watch it here
Hope you find this useful!
