Danish Gambit: Part 3
Now let´s look at how you can use these ideas to your advantage in some common variations.
In the above position, if black goes with d6, then knight f3, and then if he goes for bishop g4 trying to pin this knight, it´s a big mistake.
We will then do a bishop sacrifice with bishop takes f7 with check. King takes and now we have knight to e5 check forking the king and the bishop. Black can´t take with their pawn because they will then lose their queen. He then is forced to move his king and we will capture their bishop.
Let´s look at a new line. Knight c6, knight f3, and knight f6 which are all normal development moves. We go e5 pushing the pawn to attack the knight. Knight e4 saving the knight. We go bishop takes f7 check with the same idea we had earlier. Black takes and this time we have queen d5 check forking the knight and the king. After the king moves, we capture the knight. The material is almost equal but the king is exposed and they have lost their right to castle so if should be a victory for white.
Let's look at another line. Queen g5 threatening to take g2, knight f3 enticing black to go ahead. Then rook g1 attacking the queen and black's only option is h3. Now we go for the same idea and do bishop f7 check. They can't take the bishop because after knight g5 check, he loses his queen.
That brings it for the end of today's blog. Reminder: I am going to try to revive Puzzle Masters and I will post as many puzzles as I can. I will do it daily starting tomorrow.
