Patzer to Grandmaster (because it rhymes)
In the second week of my return to chess I've played three games. 1 win, 1 loss (basically demonstrating my rusty skills), and 1 draw. I keep working on my Chessable opening theory, doing some endgame theory, and playing a lot of games against a 1900 bot.
The game I have annotated below is a 30-minute game that ended in a draw.
My opponent was the Baron of Duddingston. We were rated within five points of each other to start the game. He is an e4 player. Against e4 I'm a Sicilian. He played the Bowdler Attack.
Afterwards when I ran Chess.com's review it pointed out that he played accurately to the tune of 89.9%. I played at a 89.8%, so all in all a draw was the right answer. Also, and this is new since I have been away from Chess.com, but the Review had us both playing (in this game) at 1900. I'll take that.
Tomorrow Pawncrusher88 will be over to the house for some over the board chess. He's at least another 1.5%tile above me, and at these levels-- that means a lot.
Thanks for reading, as always if you want to read my novels, check them out on Amazon. They are free with Kindle unlimited, and/or $2.99. (Marvin Brauer)
Good chess to you.
