#1 Castling

What is castling in chess? Simple. Castling in chess is a special move where you can move two pieces in one move. The king an the rook. There are two types of castling. Long castle and short castle. Long castling is when you castle queen side and short castle is when you castle king side.

Long castle:

Short castle:

But you have to follow a set of rules when you castle.

  1. You may NOT be in a check before OR after castling.
  2. You may only castle if there is no pieces in your way.
  3. You may NOT castle if there is a check on the way.

Here you may NOT castle!

4. It has to be the first move from both the king and the rook.

#2 Forking

Forking is when a piece attacks 2 pieces at the same time.

But it doesn't always need to be check.

Every piece can fork.
