Once a gentle woman, Nessa's life took a drastic turn when raiders massacred her family. Fuelled by vengeance, she embarked on a relentless quest for retribution. Fate intervened when Fergus, smitten by her strength and determination, proposed marriage.

However, Nessa's condition was unconventional: her son, Connor, must reign as King of Ulster for a year. Despite initial reservations, Fergus agreed, assured by his people that Connor's temporary reign would be accepted.

Under Nessa's guidance, Connor proved to be a wise and just ruler, earning the respect of his people. Meanwhile, Nessa's daughter, Deichtre, displayed remarkable courage and skill, leading her brother's chariot into battle.

As Deichtre prepared for marriage to Sulatim Mac Roigh, she secretly yearned for one last adventure. On her wedding day, she vanished with her handmaidens, journeying to the Otherworld.

There, Deichtre encountered Lugh of the Long Arm, who prophesied her son's birth after she unknowingly swallowed a mayfly. Enchanted by Lugh's charisma, Deichtre accepted his invitation to the Otherworld.

Back in Ulster, Connor and his warriors searched in vain for Deichtre and her handmaidens. A year passed, and during a feast, a flock of birds led them to Deichtre's hidden abode.

Bricriu, sensing mischief, guided Connor to the magnificent palace where Deichtre awaited. A newborn baby nestled in her arms, bearing the mark of the Otherworld.

Deichtre revealed her plan to reunite with her kin and raise her son among the Ulstermen. A debate ensued over who should foster the child, resolved by Morann's wise judgment.

Deichtre, with Sulatim, would raise her son until he reached maturity, before returning to Ulster to be nurtured by the wisest and strongest of men.

And so, the legacy of Nessa's family continued, intertwined with the mysteries of the Otherworld, ensuring a future of courage, wisdom, and honor for generations to come.
