YOUR Chess Pieces are YOUR Army Part II

You're on the battlefield, (chess board) and you have lost your entire nuclear arsenal, (queen) your leader (king) is not safe, and you are losing the equipment that you still have by the minute. *To be continued*

What do you do? Right now, seems a good time to wave the white flag,
and hope your enemies have mercy on you. You must never give up, and never surrender.

The great Winston Churchill gave a powerful speech on June 5th, 1940, following the attack at Dunkirk. This is an excerpt:

"We shall go on to the end,

we shall fight in France, we shall fight on the seas and oceans, we shall fight with growing confidence and
growing strength in the air, we shall defend our island, whatever the cost may be. We shall fight on the
beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight
in the hills, WE SHALL NEVER SURRENDER and even if, which I do not for a moment believe, this island or a
large part of it were subjugated and starving, then our Empire beyond the seas, armed and guarded by the
British fleet, would carry on the struggle, until, in God's good time, the New World, with all its power and might, steps forth to the rescue and the liberation of the old"

A powerful speech from an outstanding leader. True leaders don't run for the hills when events take a turn for the worse, they fight until the end.

You can't literally "unite" your soldiers, but you have to team them up with other pieces of equipment.

Sometimes, it means sacrifice.

A man named Rick Riordan once said, "True success requires sacrifice." He is right! You will never wage a battle in chess without losing any of your soldiers or equipment. You have to be extremely careful when making planned sacrifices, it is a gamble. You have to weigh everything in the balance. Will a sacrifice work? Let's find out.

Back on the battlefield, the sacrifice begins. Your one tank that remains (rook) runs straight into enemy territory, heavy fire is exchanged until it is destroyed and sacrificed.

The distraction allows what is left of your diminished forces to find weakness, break through, make it to the enemy king, and destroy every last enemy. Victory.

Are you a leader? Are you the one to give up when everything seems hopeless? Leaders are winners, the faint-hearted are not. When going into battle, you want someone with experience, motivation, someone who contributes, someone who can provide stability in hopeless, and NEVER gives up. That is what you need in order to be a leader.
