About The World Chess Championship

Match Format

Tie Breaks 
The match will consist of up to 14 classical games
The first player to score 7.5 points becomes the world champion
The time control is 120 minutes for the first 40 moves, followed by 30 minutes to the end of the game, with a 30-second increment per move from move 41.
Players are not allowed to draw by agreement before move 41.
ScheduleThe 2024 FIDE World Chess Championship will take place from November 25 to December 13

 $2,500,000-PRIZE MONEY

The winner of the match becomes the FIDE World Champion.
