Hello, everyone, and welcome back to another blog. Before I start today's blog, I want to apologize for not writing for more than 2 months. Over the last two months, I was very busy with the biology olympiad. However, it was worth it because I won a bronze medal in the International Biology Olympiad on 10th July.

Today I want to share with you the top 3 highest-rated players. Note that the ranking is based on Fide rating although the games were played online. Let's get started!

#3 Peter Large G

Peter Large G is an International Master from England. He was born in 1956 and has played many games both online and over the board including games against many top GMs like Vasily Smyslov.

I got a chance to play him on 7th May 2023. It was a random bullet game, so there will be many errors and blunders. Let's see how the game went:

I know it is hard to play Bullet when you are already 65+ years old. Still, he was too slow and I easily flagged him. The game was not too bad either. Chess, com analysis gave me a rating of 2300, 200 rating higher than my rating at that time.

#2 P D S Girinath

P D S Girinath is also an International Master. He was born in 1968 in India. His peak rating is 2449. He has also played against many strong GMs.

I got a chance to play against him on 22nd June 2022. It was again another random bullet match. Let's see how this game went:

GG! It always feels good to beat an IM especially when I was only a 2100-rated player. Both players had some mistakes, but at least I was winning in the end.

#1 Praveen Thipsay

Praveen Thipsay is a very strong Indian Grandmaster. He was born in 1959. He is the first Indian to get a chess Grandmaster norm and the first Indian to win the Commonwealth Chess Championship.

I was lucky to play him on the 21st of April 2023. I think the quality of the game is the worst out of these three. Let's see how I beat the Grandmaster!

GG! I really liked how I found the only drawing resource at the end. It must be really hard for him because if he had played any moves, he would have drawn. Again it is hard to play fast when you are so old. It was a great experience overall.
Conclusion
I know that all these people have quitted professional chess a long time ago and I flagged all of them by taking advantage of their slowness. Still, I feel proud when I think about these victories. Now, whether it is ethical to flag these legends is a topic of another day. Thanks for reading!
