Hi everyone! Today I'm going to be explaining the Stafford Gambit. I know none of you are going to use this opening or even read this blog, but I'm bored. Enjoy!

1. When the gambit is accepted:

The Stafford Gambit starts like this:

The best thing that could happen is:

Even if they don't take your queen, you can do this:

The best move is Be2. Right now I like h5 or Qd4, but the engine says Ng4. The reason I like h5 is because the people I play like to castle, but you don't have to.

or

Qd5 can be met with Be3, but in quick games lower rated people might not see Be3 and castle. If it's a slow game, Ng4 would be best. If they castle, then you can play Ng4. If h3, Nxf2 is crushing. If they take the knight, Qh4 is best.

If they take the knight and with a few moves of best play, White has refuted the gambit. If they castle, then the below is good:

By the way, mate actually is unstoppable. Again, in quicker games h5 or Qd5 might be best. You shouldn't play this in slow games, but you can if you want.

I can't think of any other lines, but I'll add some lines if needed.
