Fins Redux
Well, I'm back! After more than two years of apathy (in which time my blog has accumulated all manner of comment spam...Internet version of cobwebs?!), I've decided to start writing regularly about chess again. Frankly, my blog was never much to begin with; mainly it was a collection of sporadic thoughts, USCL coverage, and the odd bit of analysis.
Writing about chess has always been a struggle for me. When I'm engaged, I feel like I can write and analyze for hours and hours. Unfortunately, I tend to lose interest quickly when internalizing my thoughts is a much easier and viable option. In addition, as a competitive chess player there is always the question of how much information you want to give away to future opponents lurking in cyberspace.
Regardless, I'm going to make a serious effort to keep this blog going. As of January 2011 I'm a full-time chess professional (more on this later!), so I expect to have a pretty steady influx of games, analysis, tournament reports, etc. Be sure to look for the occasional life updates as well!
For now, here are my comments to an interesting ICC blitz game I played the other day:
