First Tournament of the Year!
Lets go, this tournament started out really rough, but we made a comback.
Id like to say beforehand there was almost no one at my rating that I could play so we got stuck with bad odds every game, a loss means I lose a ton, a draw means I lose, and a win I win bare minimum, so oh boy.
Annoying way to start off, draw against a far weaker player when I should have easily won, oh well. 0.5/1.
Dang, this game taught me 2 big lessons.
1. Never underestimate someones rating
2. KEEP UP THE PRESSURE, the moment I took my foot off the gas and traded, I lost. Rough start, time to lock in for these next 3.
0.5/2
Finally, a convincing win. I needed that to get my momentum rolling anyways, so lets go into day 2 with a 1-1-1 score.
1.5/3
So uh, game 4 my opponent forfeited... free win I guess, shame I lost the chance to get some rating back though.
2.5/4
Finally, I played a very sharp opening and managed to get my king and rook into a pickle, but I managed to survive, and capitalize on my material advantage in the endgame! I had fun as usual during this tournament, and I wish I could have started off stronger! 3.5/5 total score, likely lost rating .
Have a good day everyone! And good luck with your chess goals!
