A Contested Modern Defense Game

In this game I had the White pieces. My opponent played tactically well, but allowed me to gain too much central control and space and weakened his pawn structure, which gave me a better middlegame. The positions were sharp and there were interesting combinations to calculate, but few tactical mistakes from either part. The play was sensible and it was interesting to watch both sides' plans appear on the board. I didn't manage to realize my advantage by a mating attack though, as at the late middlegame I made an unfavourable exchange and then misevaluated an interpolation by Black because I didn't look deep enough into a sharp variation. This let him equalize after a huge simplification, thus beginning the endgame. For the remaining part I played better and finally won.
