Grand Finale Gambit: The Climactic Clash of World Chess Rapid Game 5 in Samarkand

In the shadow of Samarkand's timeless monuments and against the backdrop of an enchanting chess landscape, the World Chess Rapid tournament reached its pinnacle with the eagerly awaited the last round of Day 1.

Nevertheless the top seed GM Magnus Carlsen ruled the chess board as he won another game in the last round of Day 1 of the World Rapid Chess Championship. The World Number 1 won a crushing game were he controlled the game in which he was never losing at least on the Eval Bar.

On the other hand GM Vidit Gujrathi leaped on mistake by GM Maksim Chigaev on moves 35, 36 and 37 the Spanish Grandmaster made 3 critical mistakes which ended up deciding the game.
