Which Opening?

Which Opening?

Have you ever found an opening to YOUR style? This blog will help you pick:

Person 1: e4 is the best!

Person 2: (screaming) NO, d4!

Person 1: (laughing) d4 sucks! Even g4 is better!

Person 2: DEPENDS ON YOUR STYLE!

Person 2 brings us to our point. Our opening preferences depend on our style.

Attacking players should play e4. This gives early wins and more attacking chances. An attacking player should be especially fond of gambits, including the King’s Gambit and Danish Gambit. However, a person for positional play can also go for the Vienna and closed openings. If they prefer to go for more standard openings, they should play d4.

The opening main lines for Danish and King’s Gambit go:

A lot of possibility for an attack

A sharp opening with many possibilities.

Sicillian:

A sharp opening with attacking chances for both sides.

However, Black, when facing e4, we have the Caro-Kann opening, which brings about a positional fight. However, Black is more likely to choose e4 c5 or e4 e5. Those may bring about either a fight after the Kings Gambit or Danish Gambit, or a positional fight after a more closed battle. Here, the Evans Gambit (not the best, a weapon at lower levels) may arise.

May lead to complications. However, d4 may also lead to Gambits from Black. Otherwise, there will be a less complicated battle with d4 d5, or a complicated attacking fight. Our point is that White can always go for a positional battle or a attacking battle, even if black tries c5 or Nf6 in d4. White can build up a solid London-like structure, or go for a attacking fight. Other openings lead to another sort of battle, with different types. My personal analysis favorite is:

With pressure on d5.

Choose to your strengths and win!
