Webinar 95. Luring the Enemy King into the Open

Dear Chess Friends!

It’s easy to attack the enemy king when he is located in the center. But how to attack when the king is castled? Of course, you may suggest several strategies how to attack in different types of positions: sometimes a pawn march works, sometimes you should attack with your queen and minor pieces or even make a rook lift. These are strategies…

But what about tactics, which tactical means do you know? I would like to tell you about “Luring” the king.

Please, look at this diagram.

White just played 31.Qc4? How would you play as black? How to take the advantage of the king weakness? I’m sure you can find the solution yourself, but if not, scroll down to read the answer on the bottom of this page.

Looks like there are several pieces defending the king, but actually they just obstruct king’s activity. Our main task is to lure the king into the open space and deliver a checkmate. Sometimes we also need to chase the king first and force him to move further and only then you get a possibility to checkmate!

Would you like to learn this tactical motif? If yes, I’m glad to invite you to my next webinar 95th “Luring the Enemy King into the Open”

I’m going to explain when and how to apply such a tactical motif and, of course, illustrate everything with examples from GMs’ games.

Join the webinar, learn new tactics and defeat your opponent with a strong attack and a beautiful combination!

The webinar starts on Sunday (19th of September) at 10 a.m. (EDT), 2 p.m. (GMT), 5 p.m. (Moscow time). This webinar is free.
