The Intercontinental Ballistic Missile gambit, (Tennison gambit if you're a nerd), or ICBM for short, is a gambit that will surely destroy your opponent.

You play as white. The board starts with you playing e5, wait no-

e4, and then they play d5, known as the Scandinavian defense. Then, class, you do not take the pawn. instead, you play Nf3, developing your knight and giving up your pawn. Why is this so crucial, you ask? Well, you will see in a few moves later.

It is the opponent's move, and your opponent is most likely going to be confused by why you played Nf3, because the main line of the Scandinavian is to take on d5. But, overcome with greediness, he takes the pawn on e4.

Then, you play Ng5, defending your knight and attacking his pawn. He must defend, so he plays Nf6.

Thought you were going to put pressure or develop your pieces? Nope! You're now going to gambit a second pawn, by playing d3. your opponent will be immensely bewildered, and then will proceed to take. We then will take back with the bishop.

If you were black, would you like the knight on g5? I wouldn't. So, I would play, or he would play, h6, to kick the knight. This is his fatal mistake and it will be the end for him.

We will now sacrifice our knight by playing Nxf7. He will take back with the king.

Now, we will play Bg6+, and it is game over for him. We have essentially won the game, because we have made a discovery check on the queen. He will take the bishop, and then we will launch our intercontinental ballistic missile (queen) and then it will yeet the heck out of the black material by taking their queen.

Now, we have won. All we have to do is just play a bit more with a significant material advantage and slowly crush him until he no longer exists.
