Candela Francisco drew and Argentina added points against Azerbaijan, after completing the third round of the 45th Budapest Chess Olympiad. The national women's team tied 2-2 against the European team and has 10 points in the standings led by China and Vietnam (11.5). Today, they will face Germany in the 4th round.

The 18-year-old from Pilar (2294) drew with the black pieces against international master Gunay Mammadzada (2433 FIDE ranking), the best player on the Azerbaijani team.

In this way, she contributed half a point to the national team, which also added points with the victory of María José Campos (2252) against Ulviyya Fataluyeva (2378), while Anapaola Borda Rojas (2216) split with Khanim Balajayeva (2384). Claudia Amura (2191) fell against Gulnar Mammadova (2336).

With this result, the team captained by Sebastián Iermito and seeded 26th in the competition, added 2 points for a total of 10 after the resounding 4-0 victories over Morocco and Venezuela in the two initial rounds.

Argentina has 10 points, as do India, Turkey, the Netherlands and Poland, and they are 1.5 points behind the leaders China and Vietnam.
