Another round, the fourth, of the 45th edition of the Chess Olympiad being held in Budapest has passed. And once again the Argentine teams showed great form and obtained positive results. In this sense, the women's team achieved a more than meritorious draw against Germany, one of the favorites given that they are the eighth seed, and the senior team easily beat Bolivia.

Senior team victory and rise in the table
With victories by Fernando Peralta, Diego Flores and Tomás Sosa (the only one who is 4 out of 4) and the draw by Leandro Krysa, Argentina fell 3.5 to 0.5 to Bolivia (74th). In effect, the group reached six points, given that it won three matches and lost the remaining one.

Women's victory to remain undefeated
María Belén Sarquis made the headlines on the fourth board and beat Hanna Klek, while María José Campos fell to Elisabeth Paehtz. Then, Candela Francisco and Anapaola Borda, both in white, tied against two very strong rivals such as Dinara Wagner (2452) and Josefine Heinemann (2316). In the end, a 2-2 to evaluate.

Thus, the women remain undefeated in the competition with a balance of two matches won and another tied (against the sixth and eighth seeds).

What is the system and pace of play of the games?
In total, 11 rounds will be played, with a day of rest in between. The pace of play is 90 minutes for the first 40 moves, followed by an additional 30 minutes for the rest of the game, with an increase of 30 seconds per move from the first move.
