So, here I am. My first blog at chess.com, so I guess I'll tell a little about myself. I'm an awful chess player, but that doesn't stop me from trying to play. When I was about 10 I got really into chess for about three years, but then stopped since I didn't have anyone to play with. I played my first complete game against a human opponent in 9 years yesterday.
I think I'm largely getting back into chess because now I have a wife and we are thinking about kids. I want my children to have the best upbringing possible, and I think chess (and go, which I'm also terrible at) are some of the best tools for developing the minds of young people.
