Shredder Vs Gull (The Most Brilliant Draw in the Game of Chess)
If you are wondering what Shredder and Gull is? both of them are extremely powerful chess AI programs
which can calculate variations beyond what a human mind can comprehend.......To be honest, this game is one of the most marvelous chess games I have ever seen in my life
it is beyond greatness ![]()
this game took place in 2013 March, 25th in the Top Chess Engine Championship (The Unofficial World Computer Chess Championship)
Lets get into this beautiful gameplay between two of the most powerful chess engines in the world [ Shredder (White) & Gull (Black) ]
crazy right? that game
......I nearly lost my mind getting know how beautiful a chess game can be
so the explanation about the move Of4+ to be a Brilliant Move,
the thing about that move is if you look at the board carefully it restricts the last pawn from his move to forward and the rook is the only piece active in the board and you already can see the white king had nowhere to move and saw after the queen is taken and if the rook is also taken it is a Stalemate
a Brilliant Stalemate actually because it wasn't a stalemate because of the accident of the opponent but it became so because of the Brilliancy of the player
There might be people wondering what if we do not take with the pawn and move the king? well a devastating checkmate is upcoming if the king is moved and it is going to turn the tables and white will win and that is why it is forced to take the queen with the pawn...... And this is why the move is considered beyond Brilliant.....a true game changing move![]()
Let's check the accuracies of the Shredder Computer (White) and Gull Computer (Black)

So the players are computer so they have always have much higher accuracies because they are much powerful than humans and can calculate millions of variations in seconds
and as you can Shredder played 6 Brilliant Moves (the move combination which started of from Bb3+!! for a brilliant force draw by repetition or if the king takes it draw by stalemate but in the game it wasn't taken the king just moved so its draw by repetition)
So that's all folks, I hope you enjoyed this beautiful game between two chess computers and you learned that even in the worst moment in a chess game where you feel you are losing can emerge a very beautiful move that can literally turn the tables on your opponent.... So next time when you "see a good move, look for a better one" ~Emanuel Lasker~
