On the Bookshelf: Rachels' the Best I Saw in Chess
Stuart Rachels' The Best I Saw in Chess is the book I have chosen to review this month.
To some eyes, at first glance this could appear a wholly unremarkable publication. Stuart Rachels is only an IM, and he retired way back in 1993. What could be of interest in his memoir? And, as a whole, why should you want to read this book?
I explain many of the reasons in the full article, but just to state the obvious: the author shared the U.S. Championship at the age of twenty! Long story short, I think he has a lot of interesting ideas to share and his recent book is definitely worth a read. You can find my full take at this link, or by clicking the button below.
Thanks as always for reading and hope this review is informative ![]()
