The South Korean chess champion is currently Lee Jun-hyeok. He won the South Korean Chess Championship in 2014, 2017, 2021, and 2024. He is also known as the highest-rated South Korean-born chess player and the first to become an International Master. Lee began playing chess at the age of 10.
