Giuoco Piano
Hello people of chess.com today 1 will be talking about the Giuoco Piano opening. The Giuoco Piano means "quiet game" in Italian. It is often misleading as it can lead into a game full of brutal attacks from each side or it can turn very boring game.
Opening strategy In the Italian white's E pawn moves to the centre ,and the minor pieces on the king side developing quickly and allowing the king to castle. These early moves are opening techniques that you learn when you started chess and it is the most played opening.
How The Board Looks With the third move , White launches the kingside bishop into the attack, aiming at the f7 pawn that is only defended by the king.Black mirrors it with his own kingside bishop and the battle is ready to commence! What's the idea? Both white and black bring their pieces out quickly and seize attacking opportunities and at the same time exposing them self to the opponent . This means it is likely to be plenty of attacks and exchanges [ so much for a quiet game ] .Both players need to be aware of their weakness on their F pawn which is only defended by their kings and can bring out attacks like the fried liver and scholars mate.
