Spectral Variations #1: Tomashevsky-Caruana, Tata Steel 2016
In the "spectral variations" series I'll share spectacular variations from recent superGM games which players didn't figure out over the board, but my trusty Stockfish 7 revealed for us to enjoy.
I hope we can discover more positions with lots of hanging pieces, storming pawns and marching kings.
This final round game is from Tata Steel 2016, between Russian Champion Evgeny Thomashevsky and World#3 Fabiano Caruana.
The ghostly variation starts with black's 12th move.
